BLOG UPDATES – May 2016 3
St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls very generously gave us the money to purchase a new Microwave so that we could place the other one in our cottage for use by volunteers from overseas who will be helping at the home later in the year. A HUGE Thank You to all of you.
A group of the Grade 8 girls from St Mary’s School in front of the microwave they so generously paid for from their fund-raising events.
We were also recently blessed with the gift of an Apple iPad so we can now take stunning photographs of our children as well as donors, volunteers, etc. Instead of Skyping with adoptive families, we can now Face Time with them which is somewhat more reliable, plus the many other features this state-of-the-art device is capable of!
A group of young men from the 1st Cowies Hill Air Scouts paid us a visit recently to bless with a huge hamper of groceries – thank you so much all of you!
Some of the scouts who brought us blessings upon blessings – thank you.
At the end of April we held a highly successful Bingo Evening at Benjamin Pine School to raise funds for Baby Hope House. Our grateful thanks to all the volunteers who sold tickets, donated prizes and attended the function. Many, many thanks also to various sponsors (Benjamin Pine, Boxer, Pro Force, Tops at Sandy Centre, Miss Moo Nails, Linda and many others) for the prizes, cooldrinks and guarding of the vehicles and property. A special thank you to Yvette for organising the event and arranging our terrific Bingo Master, Ruan who made the evening such fun.
Seen here with Nanny is Mr John Lancaster who won the monthly hamper sponsored by Hay Hoe Service Station. Thank you Hay Hoe and congratulations to John!
