Mandela Day
Yesterday we experienced an awesome day when many people from various companies came to Hope House to give their 67 minutes of community service in honour of the late Mr Nelson Mandela. Many brought donations in kind as well or simply spent quality time with the little people, for which we truly thank each and every one of you. Your contributions have blessed our little ones more than you will ever know.
Our thanks to Mike Crouch who, with his friend Jimmy, sorted out the locking mechanism on our entrance gate. It is fabulous to be able to press the button inside to unlock the gate for people to enter the property.
Bev Theron and her mother and a gentleman blessed our children with a Sleepy Head doll each. These dolls are all beautifully hand-made with lots of love from many kind ladies. Thank you everyone!
The staff at Brabys collected various items which they delivered to our home – your contributions are deeply appreciated.
Yvette Tomlinson came with cooked food for the babies and spent some time with all of us too – thank you Aunty Yvette!
Thank you to Pumza Mangatyi from Nedbank who got stuck in with the team of staff from Volvo Trucks painting playground equipment as her contribution to Mandela Day.
A huge thank you to Afzal Sindhi, a manager of Volvo Trucks in Westmead, for bringing many staff members and also involving some of their suppliers (Hermans Truck Repairs, RCD, Total Cleaning, KTS (Scampy), T/Earth (Angus) and Centlube (Pranesh) ) to paint playground equipment, install a new Dstv satellite dish, fill the new sand bags for the trampoline, clean the play house, clean out and fill the boat sandpit with sterilized sand, repair the shade cloth around the jungle gym sandpit and supply sand for it, paint the ramp for the jungle gym and paint the paving in the garden. Everything looks so fresh and bright and our children simply love their ‘new’ playground.
Volvo have also arranged with Tiger Wheel and Tyre to supply and fit 4 new tyres to our vehicle. A massive thank you to them for doing this for us.
BIDVEST Prestige spent time with our little ones and showered us with gifts of groceries and clothes – thank you a wonderful group of caring people.
Claire and some staff members of Mr Price brought us some groceries, toys and clothes – thank you so much for blessing us in this way.
It was lovely having Trudy Boshoff and her 2 children to read the children stories and feed them supper and generally keep them entertained while Nanny and Granny were preparing their meal and bottles and sorting out the numerous donations. Thank you for your time and also for the Pull-up nappies you brought.
